01. Tell us the story of how Hunt Wright Design Co. got started.
After years of graphic design work and stepping back to grow my family, I set my intentions on the wedding industry. I’m a self-taught graphic designer, with a degree in photography, and have always loved the challenge of juggling multiple projects at once; all being a little bit different. Designing wedding invitations fills that need in a big way. While the recipe may remain steady, the ingredients are always diverse. I am honored to tell each couple’s story in a way that will be treasured for eternity.
02. What’s your favorite wedding trend right now?
I’m loving how shapes and dimension is being used in all the paper goods~ Rounded corners, sharp slants, diamond or round-shaped invitation inserts or signage are all fun ways to bring a little extra life into our invitations and wedding day stationery.
03. What trend(s) do you wish would die?
Monotone weddings! Color is life and a beautiful representation of such makes a big impact on decor and the guest experience.
04. What’s something you wish every planner told their couples?
It’s important to spend money on the paper aspect. Wedding invitations are the first impression of your wedding. Etiquette, style, and quality are huge factors in making a good first impression! Carrying the design theme of your invitations into wedding stationery brings a high level of cohesion and class; one you, your family, and guest will remember forever.
05. What would be your dream destination wedding location to work?
I’m a travel junkie so put me on a plane and I’ll make the best of the situation, however. If I had to pick a dream destination wedding locale it’d be a mountain range, like the Italian, French, or Swiss Alps with gorgeous views for days. Incorporating the style of the couple and the scenic landscape would be so fun to plan, esign, and travel to.
06. What’s your favorite part of a wedding day as a vendor?
Feeling the excitement of it all - there’s this energy that is contagious to all!
07. What’s your favorite place to grab takeout in the Twin Cities right now?
So many choices! With these cold, winter months I’m enjoying Revival to help warm me up. Southern Fried Chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collard greens, biscuites… give me all the comfort food!
