Today we are going to spend some time with Courtney, the owner of Fork & Flair Catering! Fork & Flair cater to weddings, corporate events, graduation parties, and so much more. They’re known for creating crazy delicious meals from scratch and with fresh ingredients, all while being incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful! 01. Tell us the story of how your business got started!
“The owners, Courtney & Kathy met in 2009 working for two different companies, but in the same kitchen. When the company Courtney was working for decided to discontinue business, Courtney and Kathy thought of the idea to start Premier Catering, doing weddings, corporate events, ect. as a sister company to Premier Kitchen. After building Premier Catering for a few years, the ladies bought Premier Catering and Event Planning from the owner of Premier Kitchen in 2013. In 2017 we rebranded to Fork & Flair Catering and Events. The new name and brand were much more fitting to our style!”
02. What’s your favorite wedding trend(s) right now?
“We really love Family Style! Family style is so much fun for the guests, there's so many different routes you can go with this kind of meal. And it's a fast style of service!”
03. What wedding trend(s) are you over?
“We're not really over anything! We see so many different kinds of weddings, that it's just fun to see how every couple does things differently!”
04. What's something you wish every planner told their couples?
“That there's no perfect way to plan a wedding. Everyone has a different timeline, and everyone has different priorities! Trust the process and trust your vendors!”
05. What would be your dream destination wedding location to work?
“From a food standpoint, Paris! The culture, history, and rich flavors are just enchanting. From an atmosphere standpoint, Dominican Republic.”
06. What is your favorite part of a wedding day as a vendor?
“We really love a room reveal! Whether it's before the ceremony, or we need to do a room flip. It's always great to see the couples' faces when they see the finished product!”
07. Do you have any personal favorite items off the menu?
“The Artichoke Parmesan Stuffed Chicken Breast! It's so rich and creamy!”
08. What’s your favorite place to grab a bite to eat and/or a drink right now in the Twin Cities?
“Eli's Downtown. It's classic comfort food for me!”
