We hope you enjoy taking a glimpse at Champagne Press and take note of the endless opportunities you have to express your personalities through your stationery details. Take it away, Julie!
01. Tell us the story of how your business got started!
“Champagne Press got started on a whim, really. What started as a small card making company on Etsy took off when we designed some really popular Christmas cards and then wedding invitations. We couldn’t design and print fast enough. I quickly learned to LOVE working with engaged couples to make one of a kind wedding stationery, and here we are 11 years later! ”
02. What’s your favorite wedding trend(s) right now?
“The lush, lush, lush florals hanging from ceilings, draped in entryways, etc. etc. I’m all for an abundance of candles on tables too, but the wedding’s dripping in florals right now always have me swooning.“
03. What wedding trend(s) are you over?
“Every wedding style that a couple is excited about I can get behind. The rustic ‘burlap and lace’ barn wedding was really overdone for a while but I haven’t had that request for some time, so I think we’re in the clear!”
04. What’s something you wish every planner told their couples?
“To book their stationer early and that their invitation suite really does set the tone for the wedding. It can really build excitement for the wedding and be one of their favorite details.”
05. What would be your dream destination wedding location to work?
“I have truly worked on weddings all over the globe and they are all really special. I don’t know that I’ve worked a wedding in China. That would be cool.“
06. What is your favorite part of a wedding day as a vendor?
“Unfortunately I’m rarely at the wedding as my work is done weeks before. Once in a great while a planner or couple will hire me to come style the wedding stationery, and I love doing that. I love seeing the floral get built and a venue transform.“
07. What is something you enjoy making for couples?
“Letterpress or foil stamped invitations, menus, thank you’s etc. etc. I love pressed goods because they feel more significant than stationery that’s digitally printed. I will use digital print in some capacity with every couple, but I just love the impression letterpress or foil printing makes in the soft paper and how it take times and skill to print well. It feels appropriate for a wedding. Ya know, ‘love is patient’. ”
08. What was something you dreamed of having being part of your wedding when you were a kid? Did you still include that?
“I never really thought about my wedding surprisingly enough. But when the time came to plan, decisions were made really quickly. I love tuxedos, wanted to get married somewhere sunny and warm (thank you Arizona) and wanted romantic and lush floral in deep magentas and red. I included all of those things and would probably do them again.”
09. What’s your favorite place to grab a bite to eat and or drink right now in the Twin Cities?
“Khaluna - it’s delicious as it is gorgeous.”
